Cop shot dead, another injured in Karachi

KARACHI: Unknown gunmen Sunday night shot and killed one policeman and injured another along with two passers-by, Geo News reported.

According to IGP Sindh office, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sohail and a constable, Noman, were patrolling Aram Bagh area when they came under attack.

"The shooters first hailed the cops to stop and as soon as they pulled over the assailants showered them with bullets. The constable died on the spot, while the ASI sustained serious bullet-wounds", said the statement.

According to sources, two passers-by were also wounded in the firing.

The dead and injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi.

The police have started investigation into the incident.
