ISLAMABAD: Professor Ibrahim who represents the Taliban committee said talks with the government committee could not take place today. According to sources, the committees can hold their first meeting on Thursday.
The government and Taliban committee were scheduled to meet on Tuesday but failed to do so. The government’s committee had sought clarity on the status of the Taliban’s committee after Imran Khan and Mufti Kifayatullah declined to be part of the Taliban’s committee. The Taliban said the three member committee was final and no new names would be added.
Following the Taliban’s statement, the government committee contacted the Taliban committee but the time for a meeting could not be fixed.
