LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said that Taliban’s willingness to hold talks with the government under the Constitution of Pakistan has exposed those who have been linking terrorism with the imposition of Sharia.
In a statement, the PTI chairman said that in the previous nine agreements with the government, the militants had never called for imposition of Sharia since no legislation could be carried out against the Sharia as per the Constitution of Pakistan.
He reiterated that Taliban’s terrorism was a backlash to the US war and the militants had also demanded of Pakistan to pull out from Washington’s war and stop drone strikes.
Khan said that he had been opposing army operation and troops deployment in FATA since 2004.
He said that a lobby receiving US dollars was awarding him epithet like Taliban Khan.
