National Security Policy will be presented in NA today
ISLAMABAD: The National Security Policy (NSP) approved by the federal cabinet on Tuesday will by presented in the National Assembly today (Wednesday), Geo News reported.

Interior Minister Nisar will present the NSP in the National Assembly session. The session will also be attended by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The Federal Cabinet met under the chair of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and was briefed on the dialogue process with the Taliban by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan.

The cabinet decided that the targeted operation against militants and talks will continue simultaneously, while special arrangements would be made for people fleeing the affected areas. The internally displaced persons (IDPs) from North Wazirstan will be provided a special package.

Members of the cabinet also called for the Taliban to announce an unconditional ceasefire.

Prime Minister Nawaz Shairf said no one would be allowed to challenge the writ of the government. He added that the dialogue process was initiated with sincerity by the government but the Taliban made it meaningless by attacking security forces and innocent people.

He underlined the importance of enhancing the national security for safeguarding the lives and property of the people and building the trust of foreign investors to invest in Pakistan.
