First formal Talks with TTP to be held soon: Nisar
ISLAMABAD: First formal direct talks between the government dialogue committee and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) would be held during the next few days.

This was stated by Minister for Interior Ch. Nisar Ali Khan while addressing a news conference in Islamabad on Friday after chairing Board meeting of NADRA.

He said they were progressing ahead rapidly and many of the misgivings, misconceptions and questions would stand removed about the dialogue process.

He said that this is the most sensitive phase of the dialogue.

Replying to a question the Interior Minister said the other side has adopted a policy of non-violence and this has led to improvement in the situation.

He said there are still some forces that want to sabotage the dialogue process by way of terrorist activities. He said these forces are on our target and if they did not mend their ways then action will be taken against them.

The minister said as a result of measures taken by the PML-N government, NADRA earned profit of about one hundred million rupees during the last two months. He said process is underway for appointment of regular Chairman NADRA in a highly transparent manner.

He said the number of Director-Generals in NADRA has been reduced from 36 to 24. He said Islamabad Safe City project has been approved. An agreement to this effect would be signed with a Chinese company on Monday. (PPI)
