Traffic police brawl: Shafique threw the first punch, CCTV footage reveals

KARACHI: A common citizen of the metropolis, who was badly beaten by traffic cops earlier today and then taken into custody, has been released on personal surety later on Monday.

However, the CCTV footage later obtained by Geo News showed that the man identified as Shafique was the one who threw the first punch at the traffic cop.

According to details, Shafique was told that he cannot park his motorcycle at a traffic police when he tried to do so.

Upon seeing other vehicles parked there, Shafique protested with the traffic police personnel and started hitting them, infuriating them to an extent that they all began to beat him in every way possible. The two sides didn’t even hesitate using punches, kicks and even helmet.

The traffic cops then arrested the man and lodged a case for interfering in the discharge of official duties before releasing him on personal surety later in the evening.

“Shafique is a patient of high blood-pressure and mostly remains tensed up,” a brother of Shafique told the media.
