Residents flee tribal districts as military action intensifies
PESHAWAR: Residents of Pakistan’s tribal districts have fled their homes as the military action in the area has intensified.

A government official told a foreign news agency that ‘some 58,000 people, mostly women and children have fled North Waziristan district since an air strike targeting militants in late May killed at least 75 people.’

Meanwhile, several IDPs have left their camps in Orakzai Agency following a terrorist attack. Those who remain at the camps have called on the government to provide them security. IDPs said they had been threatened by the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to vacate camps by 11 June. The DPO Hangu said there are only three district levies and 4 policemen deployed to provide security at the camp.
