Addressing at an Iftar dinner, hosted by Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Nadeem Afzal Gondal, Gilani alleged that establishment did not let them work when they were in power. Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry (former chief justice of Pakistan) and Pervez Musharraf (former president) were also there during PPP tenure.

He said Nawaz Sharif moved court over Memogate issue even PPP government took resignation from Hussain Haqqani in three days to resolve the matter. He said: “those who were creating problems for our government are themselves facing the problems today.”

Gilani said PPP stood by Asif Ali Zardari over his statement pertaining to recount of votes in four constituencies.
