ISLAMABAD: Police have detained Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Azam Swati from outside the F-8 Kacheri while several party leaders and workers still remain there.
Swati was detained after he refused to disperse along with the crowd at the F-8 Kacheri. Prior to being detained Swati said he had gone to take out money for the bail bonds of arrested workers but the bank was closed. He added that police were treating PTI workers like animals.
PTI leader Arif Alvi confirmed the arrest of Swati and said a press conference on the arrest of workers would be held later today (Saturday).
Earlier, a local court in Islamabad ordered to send 100 protesting workers of PTI and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to jail on 14-day judicial remand.
