Guard records statement in youth murder case
LAHORE: The guard of former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani's son who shot and killed a youth here on Wednesday night has recorded his statement to the police.

23-year-old Tahir a B-Com student and resident of Defence was shot and killed by the guard who in his statement claimed he had directed the young man riding a motorcycle to stay away from the squad. The guard said he shot the young man as he considered him to be a suspicious person.

A case has been lodged against Abdul Qadir Gilani (Yousaf Raza Gilani's son) and his guards for allegedly killing Tahir.

The Police said that a guard escorting Gilnai opened fire on Tahir in the midst of a scuffle in Defence area of the provincial capital. The family of the slain staged a protest placing the dead body on the road. The heirs accused Gilani’s guards of killing the boy.

Taking notice of the incident, Punjab Chief Minster Shahbaz Sharif sought a police report and ordered action against elements responsible.

Source told Geo News that the FIR 948/144 was lodged at Defence A Division Police Station on behalf of Tanvir Javed, father of the deceased.
