CPLC, AVCC recover ransom hostage in joint raid

KARACHI: Citizens-Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) and Anti Violent Crime Cell (AVVC) on Saturday conducted a joint raid and recovered a man held hostage for ransom from Korangi area of the megapolis and also arrested his alleged kidnapper.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Muqaddas Haider, AVCC and CPLC recovered an abductee, Hammad, and arrested the alleged kidnapper after an encounter with criminals. However, two other accused, including a woman, managed to escape.

The accused had allegedly kidnapped Hammad from Landhi area and demanded Rs 5 million as extortion money.

Police has started investigation into the case.
