WASHINGTON: A statement from the Pentagon on Saturday said that similar to France, Pakistan is also a target of terrorism, however, the Pakistani government and army are making progress hand in hand.
The Pentagon Press Secretary Rear Admiral John Kirby while briefing the media said that, the US is concerned about the presence of terrorists in Pakistan and the US will consistently communicate with the Pakistani government on this issue.
He went on to say that terrorism is a global and widespread challenge and to defeat and overcome it is something that needs cooperation. In correlation to this, ties between the US and the Pakistani government and army are consistently building.
Kirby said that there was no need to pressurise Pakistan to overcome the challenge of terrorism and it was up to the Pakistani government that they rise up on their own feet for the betterment of its people.
