Death warrants issued for two convicts in Karachi
KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in the Sindh capital on Monday issued death warrants for two convicted criminals in connection with the murder during an attempted robbery in 1998.

The executions of Mohammad Afzal and Mohammad Faisal are set to be held at 5:30am on March 17.

The two convicts, along with another accomplice Kashif Khan, had killed Abdul Jabbar while committing a robbery in Korangi in 1998.

Prior to issuing the death warrants, the ATC had dismissed a truce signed between Jabbar’s family and the defendants last week.

The two men were awarded capital punishment on July 7, 1999, and were to be executed on March 5, 2015.

Kashif Khan had died during the trial and on February 23, the ATC had issued the black warrants for to the other two men.
