PML-N organized local bodies polls 3 times: Ch Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Sunday said Pakistan Muslim League-N is the only party which organized three local bodies’ elections.

In a statement issued here, Chaudhry Nisar termed the impression misleading that PML-N never conducted local government polls. “This not only amounts to disfiguring the history but also the reality,” he added.

He said local bodies polls were organized under PML-N in 1987, 1991 and 1998.

The Interior Minister said the PML-N not only accorded significance to local bodies but also ensured devolution of power to the grass roots level.
