ISLAMABAD: The Members of National Assembly (MNAs) belonging to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) received pay for full 10 months despite remaining absent for 8 months during their protest sit-ins against the government.
According to sources, a total of Rs20 million were disbursed among the MNAs as their pay for 10 months. The government released Rs800,000 to each MNA, including PTI Chaimran Imran Khan.
It is pertinent to note that all the PTI MNAs had resigned from the assembly in August last year and stayed absent for 8 months.
The salaries were issued to the MNAs, as their resignations were not accepted by the NA Speaker.
