Lt Gen (retd) Hameed Gul passes away
ISLAMABAD: Former Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) chief, Lieutenant General (retd) Hameed Gul died of brain hemorrhage on Saturday at the age of 79, according to the family sources.

Earlier in the day, Lt Gen (retd) Gul was shifted from a hospital in Murree to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Rawalpindi after his health condition worsened.

Later, the doctors at CMH pronounced him dead, stating the cause of death as brain hemorrhage.

Lt Gen (retd) Hameed Gul had been suffering from high blood pressure for some time.

Born on 20th November 1936, Lt Gen (retd) Hameed Gul served as Director General ISI from 1987 to 1989.
