Fee hikes by private schools sans permission illegal: State Minister

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Education, Balighur Rehman on Wednesday said all the hikes made so far by the private schools in the country are devoid of legal footing.

Speaking in Geo News program ‘Capital Talk’ hosted by Hamid Mir, Balighur Rehman said any increase in school fee without the prior permission of Private Educational Regulatory Authority is illegal.

Exorbitant hikes in fee by a majority of private schools have sparked protests from parents and a debate on the issue on both print and electronic media.
