KARACHI: Moon for the holy month of Muharram-ul-Haram has been sighted, therefore, the day of Ashura (10th Muharram) will fall on October 24 (Saturday).
The Central Ruet-e-Hilala Committee met here on Wednesday for sighting the moon for the holy month of Moharram-ul-Haram.
The moon of Muharram also marks the beginning of Islamic year.
Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a public holiday on Thursday, the 1st Muharram.
According to a Sindh government notification, all educational institutions in Karachi will remain closed tomorrow.
