Notification issued for holding Safoora case hearings in prison
KARACHI: Sindh Home Department has issued a notification, ordering to hold the proceedings of Safoora carnage case inside the prison citing security fears.

The notification has been received by an Anti-terrorism Court (ATC) which says the accused cannot be presented before the court due to security reasons.

The provincial Home Department also extended by 15 days the remand of Sheeba Ahmed who had allegedly provided support to the accused.

Five central accused in the Safoora massacre case identified as Saad Aziz, Tahir Hussain, Athar Ishrat, Hafiz Nasir and Asadur Rehman are in police custody.

Now the next hearing of the Safoora carnage case will be held inside the prison.

At least 46 people, including men, women and children belonging to Ismaili community had lost their lives when gunmen mounted a bus in Safoora Goth and opened indefinite fire on the passengers in May this year.
