Process of filing nomination papers for Islamabad LG polls begins today
ISLAMABAD: The process of filing nomination papers for Local Government (LG) elections in Islamabad has begun today (Monday).

According to Election Commission of Pakistan, the nomination papers could be filed in the office of Returning Officer from 8:00AM to 4:00PM till October 29. The candidates who had already paid fee could only file the nomination papers.

The scrutiny of nomination papers will be carried out from the 1st to the 4th of November while appeals about them can be filed on November 5 and 6. Appeals will be disposed of from 7th to 9th November.

Candidates can withdraw their candidature on the 10th and final list of contesting candidates with symbols allotted to them will be published on the following day.

Polling for the local government elections in Islamabad Capital Territory will be held on November 30.

The Islamabad Capitol Territory (ICT) has been divided into 50 Union Councils.
