ISLAMABAD: Reacting to Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah’s remarks, Federal Ministry for Finance Monday clarified that actually the Sindh government is responsible for the delay in obtaining surety for Engro Power Project.
According to a statement issued here, the ministry said that CM Sindh's remarks in connection with the release of funds were contradictory to facts.
The spokesman said Qaim Ali Shah's statement regarding Sindh Engro Power Project was not based on reality, adding the provincial government has not used the funds released for the K-4 project.
"As per the rules, more funds cannot be released until the Sindh government utilizes the funds already issued", he said.
He further said the finance ministry decides the fate of cases forwarded by provinces on merit and releases the funds as quickly as possible.
