PHC orders govt to move resolution against drone attacks in UN
PESHAWAR: Branding drone attacks on Pakistani territory as war crimes, the Peshawar High Court on Thursday ordered the foreign ministry to move a resolution in the United Nations against the strikes.

PHC Chief Justice Dost Muhammad Khan ruled that the drone attacks were inhuman and a violation of UN charter, directing the government to ensure that drones didn’t hit Pakistan.

In a two-page verdict over a writ petition filed by Pakistan Muslim League-N lawyer S.M Sabir, the court also ordered the government to give compensation to the families of those killed in drone attacks.

The court ordered the foreign ministry to submit a resolution against the drone strikes and cut relations with the US if the resolution was vetoed.

The verdict also said that the Pakistani security forces were authorized to shoot down the drones.
