Blockades cause difficulty to commuters in Karachi
KARACHI: The roads adjoining Gurumandir have been blocked by placing containers in the backdrop of countrywide protests against the Rawalpindi tragedy, Geo News reported Friday.

According to details, the administration has not issued any alternate route plan causing immense difficulties to commuters and creating traffic congestion on many routes.

Roads leading to Gurumandir from Liaquatabad and Jail Road have been closed by placing containers.

Sources told that Lasbela road and Corridor 3 are open for traffic.

It may be mentioned that Wafaqul Madaris al-Arabia is observing countrywide 'protest day' today against Rawalpindi incident.

All the educational institutes in Islamabad would remain closed while a rally would be taken out which would start from Lal Mosque and culminate at the Islamabad’s National Press Club after Friday prayers.

Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) chief Ahmed Ludhianvi will lead the prayers outside the mosque and seminary torched by rioters on 10th Muharram during a procession.

Difae Pakistan Council and traders bodies have announced their support to a ‘peaceful protest’ while the Punjab government said it will deploy army and paramilitary Rangers as part of security arrangements.

Karachi chapter of the AWSJ has also announced to take out rallies to record protest against the attack on Rawalpindi mosque and killing of innocent people.

Traders and transporters said they will make any decision keeping in view law and order situation.
