PESHAWAR: The Meteorological Department predicted rain with snowfall over the hills at isolated places in Malakand division, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan (GB) during the next 24 hours, however, the weather would remain cold and dry in most parts of the country.

According to Met Office, continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. However, a shallow westerly trough is still prevailing over northern parts of the country and is likely to persist during next 2 to 3 days.

Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places in Malakand division Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.

Foggy conditions are expected in plain areas of Punjab during morning hours. In next 48 hours, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at isolated places in Gilgit Baltistan.

Widespread rain with snow over the hills occurred in KP, Punjab, North Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan in the last 24 hours. Dir has received maximum 53milimeter rain followed by Parachinar 51mm, Saidu Sharif 46mm, Garidupatta 45mm, Lower Dir 42mm, Kotli 41mm, Chirat 39mm, Mangla 37mm, Muzaffarabad 33mm, Rawalpindi 31mm and Islamabad 25mm respectively in the last 24 hours.

Maximum two feet snowfall was received by Murree followed by Malamjabba 15 inch, Parachinar, Kalam 14 inch, Dir 1 ft, Skardu, Chitral, Astore, Drosh 0.5 ft and Rawalakot 04 inch respectively.

Minimum temperature was recorded at Drosh, Parachinar 06 C, Astore, Quetta 05 C, Kalat and Malamjabba 04 whereas pollen count today remained as 16 per m3 of air respectively.
