Special court dismisses Musharraf’s petition against prosecutor’s appointment

ISLAMABAD: The Special Court bench hearing Pervez Musharraf’s treason case on Friday dismissed a petition against the appointment of Prosecutor, Akram Sheikh as non-maintainable.

Pervez Musharraf’s counsel Anwar Mansoor had challenged the appointment of Akram Sheikh as prosecutor in the case.



Special Court Registrar, Abdul Ghani Soomro announced the decision which had been reserved by the Special Court bench on March 20.

The Special Court maintained that the High Court had already given a verdict in the matter and since the special court was not constitutional, it had no authority to hear it.
