Matters between MQM, PPP not finalized: Babar Ghauri
KARACHI: Despite a telephone conversation between former president Asif Ali Zardari and MQM chief Altaf Hussain, matters regarding rejoining the Sindh government have not been finalized between the two parties, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Babar Ghauri claimed on Saturday.

The MQM leader was speaking after earlier statements from Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Rehman Malik, who claimed that the MQM had agreed in principle to join the Sindh government and that both the parties will also be allies in the Senate.

“We will inform the people when something is finalized. Matters can be resolved if the PPP has good intentions,” said Ghauri.

Speaking to Geo News, Ghauri said that Altaf Hussain had informed PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari of a conspiracy to push MQM against the wall.

Ghauri said that the MQM was being put through a media trial, and that accusations were being leveled at the party as part of a conspiracy.

He questioned why Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shireen Mazari does not reply to allegations raised against her party leadership.

“Why is the MQM the one to be blamed for every crime?” asked Ghauri.

Altaf Hussain has always kept his doors open to all political parties, he said.
