Prime suspect arrested in Babar Butt murder case

LAHORE: The prime suspect in the killing of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Babar Sohail Butt has been arrested from Pat Pattan on Monday.

Butt was gunned down in the early hours of last Monday near Lakhodair area of Manawan in Lahore.

According to the postmortem report, Butt was shot 12 times by his assassins in an incident which strained the relationship between ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and PPP.

 Police said that the suspect was arrested after information from his accomplices arrested earlier by the law enforcers.

Babar had contested provincial assembly elections on PPP-P's ticket in 2013.
