KARACHI: Gold jumped by Rs 172 to hit a new high at Rs 36,342 per 10 grams in local bullion market on Thursday, as its international price also soared to $ 1,315 an ounce, market sources said.

A leading bullion dealer said that tola (11.664 grams) price also climbed by Rs 200 to Rs 42,400.

Silver jumped to Rs 544.28 per 10 grams.
