Reception held in honour of Khawaja Razi Haider in Dallas
DALLAS: A reception was hosted in the honour of Pakistan’s prominent writer and poet, author of forty eight books and Quaid e Azam Academy of Pakistan’s ex. Director Khwaja Razi Haider, at the residence of American Muslim Democratic Caucus Co-Chairman Syed Fayyaz Hassan in Arlington Texas.

Local poets, literary personalities and community leaders were in attendance. Some of the local dignitaries including Monique Wedderburn, director Asia Center at UT Dallas, South Asia Democracy Watch Directors Asif Effendi, Siraj Butt, Aftab Siddiqui, Urdu Ghar President Dr. Amir Suleman, Syed Younus Ajaz, Saeed Qureshi, Christian Cultural Association’s President Javed Samuel, Pakistan Peoples Party North Texas Vice President Shahid Jaffery, Shawkat Chaudhry and Rehan Qaiser.

A mushaira was also organized at this occasion which was presided by Mr. Younus Ajaz. Speaking to the gathering Syed Younus Ajaz said that it is a good fortune of Dallas literary circle to host a legend who has written several books on Quaid e Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

Urdu Ghar founder Dr. Amer Suleman said that Khwaja Razi Haider holds a prominent position both as a writer and as a poet and his services to Urdu literature must be appreciated.

Khwaja Razi Haider presented his poetry at this occasion and received accolades from audience.

His poetry was also translated by Asif Effendi’s wife Atia Effendi for audiences who don’t understand Urdu
