Primary suspect in Fahad Malik murder case arrested during escape attempt: sources

ISLAMABAD: Prime suspect in Fahad Malik murder case, Raja Arshad, was arrested from Torkham border as he attempted to flee the country, Geo News reported, citing sources.

The accused was trying to escape to Afghanistan when he was arrested from the Pak-Afghan border, sources said.

His passport had been cancelled and his name was on the Exit Control List, according to sources. He will be brought to Islamabad today.

Police arrested Nauman Khokhar, another accused in the murder case of Barrister Fahad Malik, on Saturday.

Additional Sessions Judge Pervaiz-ul-Qadir Memon had directed police to arrest the accused after his interim bail was rejected.

A British-Pakistani citizen, Fahad Malik was killed in the federal capital when the accused fired bullets on his car near the Shalimar police station where he had gone in his professional capacity to mediate a case between two parties involving groups linked with Tariq Malik and duo Raja Arshad and Nauman Khokhar.
