Humaira Arshad, Ahmed Butt move to court for guardianship of son

LAHORE: Pop singer Humaira Arshad and Ahmed Butt presented themselves before a session court in Lahore on Monday regarding the guardianship of their son.

However, due to the lawyers’ strike, the decision on the case was reserved and the hearing was adjourned till tomorrow.

Talking to media after the hearing, Humaira said that Ahmed Butt has been levelling allegations against her for some time now.

“If I was addicted to drugs then why did he raise objection after 12 years”, questioned the pop singer.

Ahmed Butt said that he respects Humaira. However, he never expected the end of their relationship like this.

On Tuesday, the star couple decided to break their ties after Humaira confirmed receiving first divorce from her husband.

Humaira Arshad said that the couple mutually decided to part ways and she had been living with her mother for the last two months.

She further said that legal formalities and religious requirements in this regard would soon be fulfilled.

In May, pop singer accused her husband of deceit, domestic violence and attempts to kidnap her four-year-old son.

At a press conference in Lahore, Humaira had said that she had been married to Butt for 12 years but the two had recently fallen out and were now separated.

Two days prior to Humaira’s press conference, her husband in another press conference in Lahore had said that Humaira and producer Sakhi Sarwar would be responsible if any harm is done to him and his family.
