Students at Temple University in Philadelphia set a new Guinness World Record when they made 49,100 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in just one hour, breaking the previous best of 39,303 sandwiches set in Grapevine, Texas.

The sandwich total even bested the school’s own stated goal of 40,000 sandwiches. The tens of thousands of sandwiches were sent to food banks in the Philadelphia area.

4,475 pounds of peanut butter, 3,800 pounds of jelly and 1,875 loaves of bread were used to make the world record.
