Kashmiri leaders say Indian FM’s UN speech far from reality

SRINAGAR: Hurriyat leaders in Indian Occupied Kashmir categorically rejected the claim made by Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj during her speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

Terming Sushma Swaraj’s statement far from reality, Hurriyat leaders said Kashmir has never been a part of India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC General Secretary Shabbir Ahmad Shah in a statement said India made a vain attempt to mislead the world about the historical reality in Jammu and Kashmir by resorting to lies at the United Nations. He said that tens of thousands of killings, destruction of property worth billions, rendering thousands of children orphaned and women widowed by India in Kashmir were no less than terrorist activities.

A statement issued by the Hurriyat forum led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said Jammu and Kashmir was never and would never be part of India as it was a disputed territory.
