iPhone 2G turns vintage - now more expensive than the iPhone 7

If you thought the iPhone 7 was expensive, think again. The original iPhone 2G is selling on eBay for anything between $1,000 and $8,500!

Who would have thought Apple’s first-generation iPhone would be worth that much one day? It’s what we call the curious case of the iPhone. Tech products are supposed to lose value over time, but the iPhone 2G has defied all logic. Its worth has skyrocketed and it’s not even a decade-old yet, as pointed out by The Daily Dot.

Apple stopped producing the phone in July 2008; by that time the company had sold 6.1 million units of the iPhone 2G, according to most estimates.

The iPhone 2G doesn’t even run iOS because, guess what, Apple hadn’t even started calling its software that back then.

The prices of the original iPhone 2G on eBay are expected to climb even higher as the 10-year anniversary of the phone next year draws near.

If your old iPhone 2G is still lying around at your place somewhere, dusty and forgotten, you’re in luck because you can make big bucks overnight by selling it. Old just turned to gold!
