Kashmiri youth shot dead by Indian forces

A Kashmiri youth was killed as Indian forces used force to disperse a peaceful protest held in Badgam district of the occupied valley.

Javed Ahmed Mir, 22, was killed after a head injury caused by a teargas shell.

Eye witnesses said Javed was rushed to a primary health centre and later the Soura Institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar where doctors announced him dead on arrival, reports in the media said.

Javed was a first year college student and was also working at a saw mill to support his family.

After the death residents staged protests demonstrations.

Death toll due to the ongoing violence in the valley has reached 111. Over 14000 people including women and children have suffered pellet gun injuries.

Since July 8 this year the valley has been under the grip of a curfew. Tensions erupted after a young separatist Burhan Wani was shot dead by Indian Forces.

Pakistan has raised the issue of human rights violations in the occupied valley at various international forums including the United Nations a decision which has not been taken lightly by India.

In the last few months India has resorted to unprovoked firing across the LoC. On September 29, India claimed to have carried out 'surgical strikes' across the LoC in which two Pakistani soldiers were martyred. Pakistan dismissed the claims of the surgical strikes. India has so far failed to provide any proof of any such strikes.
