PESHAWAR: Children’s lives are at high risk as there are no Intensive Care Units (ICU) in the children’s wards of all the three child care hospitals in Peshawar.

According to sources, the Hayatabad Medical Complex (HMC), Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) and public sector hospitals have no ICUs for children.

The said hospitals also don’t have any ventilators in the Children’s wards.

The Lady Reading Hospital (LRH) has an ICU in the children’s ward, but it also lacks ventilators and other basic equipment essential for saving children’s lives.

The lack of facilities at the three hospitals is causing concerns among parents as lives of many children are put at risk. Sources revealed that the lack of facilities is pushing many children towards death on a daily basis.
