BTTF inspired self-lacing Nikes to hit the racks in December

Hollywood has teased us with gadgets of the future time and again. While the flying cars from Back To The Future (BTTF) are yet to be realized, video calling, tablet computers, hands free gaming, biometric security features on doors (and even tablets) are all part and parcel of our daily lives.

The latest Back To The Future teased goody ready to hit the market are Marty McFly's self-lacing Nikes. They are cooler than what we saw in BTTF and have been dubbed the Nike HyperAdapt 1.0 and will set you back a little over $700 for a pair.

It is true Nike released the Air Mags in 2011 which were exact replicas of the 1980's high-tops but only 1510 were produced and were sold through auctions with earnings going towards the Michael J. Fox foundation for Parkinsons research raising over $4 milln through sales. In October 2016 Nike brought back the Nike Mag through a raffle where 89 pairs are up for grabs for a $10 ticket.

With the HyperAdapt 1.0, Nike has realized the tech from BTTF for the pubic but unlike the Nike Mags the HyperAdapt also raises the game in the looks department. Yes the kicks will need charging at some point depending on how often you use them; according to inside info after a three-hour charge they will be good for two weeks.

According to Digital Spy, the kicks will hit the racks on 1st December but will only be available for Nike+ customers at the Nike Soho and Nike Clubhouse in New York City.
