PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has said they will hold talks with the Taliban.
"Talks can be held with anyone," he said while talking to the media on Tuesday when three explosions killed at least five people. "But [that does not mean] we will not bow down before the Taliban."
The governor added the wave of terrorism is a challenge for this government, maintaining that the army has managed to deal with terrorism to a great extent.
The explosions took place in Tangi tehsil of Charsadda where at least five people were killed and over 12 injured.
Meanwhile, the Governor House, in a statement issued to media afterwards, explained that Governor Jhagra's hint of "talks with anyone" was not for Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.
The TTP is an outlawed terrorist group and no negotiations can be held with it, the statement read.
