Eight terrorists killed in Karachi police encounter

KARACHI: Eight alleged terrorists involved in sectarian killings were killed in an encounter after police raided Malir’s Bakra Peeri locality Monday morning.

The encounter was conducted on a tip-off about the presence of wanted terrorist and banned organization Tehrik-e-Taliban's Tank district leader Gul Zaman in the vicinity.

Zaman, who was reportedly planning to execute a terrorist attack in Karachi, was killed in the operation said SSP Malir Rao Anwar

Others killed in the raid include a member of the banned terrorist organization Jamat-ul-Ahrar and a 15-year old suicide bomber.

The terrorists were based in Afghanistan and Wadh, Balochistan, the police told Geo News.  

A laptop bomb among other weapons were recovered from the site.
