Never underestimate a low-scoring match – a lesson reinforced yet again after tonight’s thrilling playoff which saw Karachi Kings defend 126 – thanks to an incredible bowling display by Mohammad Amir, Imad Wasim and Usama Mir which took the team through to the knockout.

Rumman Raees’ royal celebration 

We’ve all seen Shoaib Akhtar’s flying eagle, Gayle’s ‘Gangnam’ style and Brett Lee’s fist pumps, but how about some royal treatment? Islamabad United’s Rumman Raees snared four wickets in today’s eliminator against Kings, including that of the big-hitting Chris Gayle. But what stood out was his trademark ‘royal’ celebration.

Painful moment for Rumman Raees as Amir clinched the final wicket to eliminate defending champions Islamabad United and mocked the ‘royal’ celebration, right in Raees’ face!

Shadab’s magic in the field

The young Shadab Khan took a wicket off the very first ball of his first over in the match – a neat lbw of the prolific Babar Azam. The 18-year-old topped it off with a stunning catch in the deep.

Sanga’s unreal catch

Karachi Kings skipper Kumar Sangakkara took an absolute blinder off a Mohammad Amir delivery to dismiss the tournament’s top-scorer Dwayne Smith in only the third over.

Not a first for the Sri Lankan legend, though. He’s taken plenty like it, but who could ever get tired of watching such incredible wicket-keeping?

Imad Wasim’s triple strikes

Three sharp strikes by Imad Wasim, coupled with a quick 14 runs off 9 balls, played a crucial role in steering Kings to victory and earned him Man of the Match award.
