Brilliant moments of PZvsKK knockout game

Some seriously fiery batting and a roaring, sold-out crowd at the majestic Dubai International Cricket Stadium defined the knockout game of the Pakistan Super League 2017 tonight, as hot favourites Peshawar Zalmi defeated Karachi Kings by 24 runs to go through to the final against Quetta Gladiators.

Here are some unforgettable moments from the game:

Kamran Akmal’s blistering ton

Wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal propelled Peshawar Zalmi to 181 with his smouldering 104 off 65 balls which saw him become the highest-scoring batsman in this year’s PSL and complete 4,000 runs in T20 cricket.

His century was the first in PSL 2017 and only the second century in the history of the league.

Gayle storm and Pollard pounding

Karachi Kings started off poorly but lo and behold! Chris Gayle awakened and was merciless in his hitting. His 40 off 31 balls brought about a miraculous turn in the game, as Kings began to hope for a win.

After Gayle departed, fellow West Indian player Kieron Pollard stepped in and powered Kings to the brink of a victory with his incredible fightback, smashing 47 off 26 balls, helped along by Imad Wasim’s bold stand.

High-flying catches by the one and only ‘Professor’

Mohammad Hafeez took two stunning catches in the outfield, leaping in the air and pulling off an incredible dive each time, leaving the crowd watching in awe as he removed Shoaib Malik and then Imad Wasim later.

Selfie... a REAL one this time!

With one ball still left to go, a fan decided he just couldn’t wait and ran into the ground right up to Darren Sammy, waving his phone for a selfie with his favourite skipper! Kudos to the ever-friendly and kind Zalmi captain, who looked stunned for a moment before fulfilling the fan’s wish.

If you didn’t support Zalmi before, time to change your mind now.
