Modi felicitates PM Nawaz on Pakistan Day

NEW DELHI/ISLAMABAD: Indian Premier Narendra Modi on Thursday felicitated Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif with regard to the Pakistan Day, sources told Geo News.

The Indian premier conveyed his felicitations via a letter written to PM Nawaz, according to sources.

The Pakistani nation marks March 23 as the Pakistan Day commemorating the passage of Lahore Resolution in 1940, when the Muslims of the Subcontinent demanded a separate homeland for them.

The letter read the Indian government holds maintaining strong ties will all neighbouring countries, including Pakistan, as its top priority, sources said.

"India wants such relations in an atmosphere free of terrorism and enmity," it added.
