PESHAWAR: Chief Minister-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak on Monday took aim at his Punjab counterpart without taking any names.

In an apparent reference to CM Punjab Shehbaz Sharif, Pervez Khattak said he does not believe in plastering his pictures on all the projects.

“I am not like the ‘showbaz’ chief minister, I don’t put my pictures on all the projects,” CM Khattak said.

“Is this why this country has been created, so that [politicians] don’t do anything for the public but make noise when the elections draw near?” the minister remarked.

He added that he is in politics to serve the public, not accumulate wealth.

The chief minister complained that the federal government did not allot the KP government railway land to be utilised for the Metro bus service.

He informed that the Metro bus service project will be completed in six months.

“None of the previous governments thought of reforming police, hospitals and schools,” Khattak said.
