LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board's Annual General Meeting on Thursday passed a unanimous resolution calling for Najam Sethi to take charge as board's chairman after the tenure of Shahryar Khan.

While Khan's term as PCB Chairman is ending on August 2017, Sethi is currently serving as head of the board’s executive committee and PSL Chairman.

The participants of the meeting also recommended the board to give an official award to Sethi for the successful staging of two PSL tournaments.

Earlier, while speaking to the media Shahryar hinted at Sethi’s appointment as the next PCB chief and reiterated that he will not contest election for the aforementioned post after completing his tenure.

The PCB chairman said that any of the ten members of board’s governing council may be appointed as the new chief according to the constitution, and Najam Sethi can also be that person.
