LAHORE: Sixteen-year-old Akhtar, whose body was recovered from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MPA Shahjehan’s house, had torture marks on his right leg, wounds and bruises on his body and stomach inflammation, according to the deceased’s post-mortem report.

Akhtar’s family also said that in his last three days, he could not even eat food properly.

On July 12, Akhtar’s body was recovered from Shahjehan’s house, located in Akbari Mandi area. Officials investigating the case said that the boy's body was found inside a sack.

The report further revealed that police were informed of Akhtar’s death at 11pm, however, Akhtar had passed away eight hours before that.

In addition, the boy's sister, Atia, was also discovered in an injured state, allegedly bearing torture marks, police informed.

A murder case – on the complaint of the victim's father – was registered at Akbari Gate Police Station against Shahjehan's daughter Fauzia who later secured protective bail from a sessions court before the police could arrest her.

Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif had taken notice of the incident and summoned a report from the Lahore capital city police officer.

Shahjehan, a widow and mother of five, was appointed to the Punjab Assembly on a reserved seat for women (307-W) after the 2013 general elections.
