ISLAMABAD: The local administration on Saturday gave permission to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to hold a rally in Parade Ground on Sunday (tomorrow) following the apex court's verdict disqualifying Nawaz Sharif.

According to the administration, PTI could use the ground for its rally but within the given time – between 6pm and 11pm.

While talking to Geo News, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Mushtaq Ahmed said the local police has been directed to ensure the flow of traffic is not impeded and security measures are in place during the duration.

He added relevant orders have been given to prevent any inconvenience to the public.

The deputy commissioner further said he has ordered that Murree Road and Expressway to be kept open, as Murree Road is located adjacent to the ground in Shakarparian, while Expressway is situated not very far from the area.

The PTI leadership announced to commemorate 'Thank You Day' or Youm-e-Tashakkur on Sunday after the Supreme Court announced its verdict on Friday.

PTI Chairperson Imran Khan, along with Jamaat-e-Islami chief Siraj-ul-Haq and Awami Muslim League head Sheikh Rasheed, had filed the disqualification petition in the apex court.
