PESHAWAR: A petition was filed against former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Ayesha Gulalai on Tuesday in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission.

The application was submitted by PTI leaders Noor Zaman and Saleem Khan, which contended that Gulalai is involved in corruption of billions of rupees.

Addressing a news conference on Monday, Zaman claimed he had evidence of Gulalai misappropriating from the amount she received for progress work in KP.

The application further stated that the commission should launch an inquiry into the matter.

Things turned murkier between Ayesha Gulalai and the PTI when she announced to leave the party, blaming the party chairman’s inappropriate attitude as the main reason.

Gulalai had alleged that Imran had hinted towards tying the knot in the texts sent to her, which also included inappropriate messages.

Gulalai, who is still an MNA, said that she will present all evidence if summoned by the parliamentary committee, formed to probe allegations by her against Imran.

PTI, however, on Friday rejected the demand for a bi-partisan parliamentary committee to probe Gulalai’s allegations.
