LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan's politics of hurling abuses is harmful for the youth.

He added that when it comes to politics, he has a different perspective when compared to Imran.

Continuing his tirade against political rival Nawaz Sharif and alluded to the former prime minister being anti-democratic.

Exclusively speaking to Geo News, he remarked that “Nawaz and democracy have nothing to do with one another.”

“Nawaz says one thing and does another thing. Nawaz must change his demeanor if he wants any kind of dialogue,” remarked PPP chair.

He advised that Nawaz should leave the politics of confrontation, engaging in this type of politics can hamper democracy in the country.

On Thursday, Bilawal had remarked that the former prime minister doesn’t even understand the meaning of ideology while speaking to media.

Bilawal was taking a jibe at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s claimed that Nawaz Sharif is not a person but an ideology. PPP chair pointed out that Nawaz is being opportunistic by changing his position and statements to favour himself.

He went on to further criticise the PML-N head and said that Nawaz has been a part of all conspiracies against democracy in Pakistan. “Mian Nawaz Sharif sahab is a threat to democracy.”

Sharing plans of PPP, he remarked that the party is working hard to strengthen the country’s democracy.

Earlier on Thursday, sources had informed Geo News that Pakistan Peoples Party co-chairperson and former president Asif Ali Zardari has, yet again, refused to meet former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, foiling the latter’s attempts for a meeting for the fourth time within three months.

Zardari, rejecting once again the possibility of any contact with Nawaz, was quoted by sources as saying that the former prime minister “only remembers democratic promises where his interests are concerned”.

“Nawaz Sharif is responsible for the current political situation of the country. Meeting him or shaking his hand is [out of the question],” the PPP co-chairperson remarked.
