HESCO launches '118' help line service
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) has launched a round the clock help line service to attend to consumer complaints more efficiently.

According to spokesman of HESCO here Thursday, the aim of the service called '118 Help Line' is to respond swiftly to all kind of complaints regarding the supply of electricity.

He said though the power distribution company already had teams stationed at the subdivision offices which catered to the complaints but in view of the need for a centralized mechanism the service was found.

"HESCO has also formed a task force to monitor the help line service performance," he informed, adding that the task force would remain active specially during hours between 8 pm to 8 am.

According to him, under the directives of HESCO chief Muzaffar Ali Abbassi the company was introducing more consumer friendly measures.

He further informed that the help line number '118' could be dialed from any land line number or mobile network. "The help line team comprising technical staff will visit the place or area from where a complaint has been registered following the complaint number given to the complainant," he added.

The service was inaugurated recently by Federal Minister for Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar.

On behalf of HESCO the spokesman appealed the people to dispense with unnecessary or avoidable use of electricity so that the company could ensure minimum hours of load shedding.
