KARACHI: Newly appointed Governor Sindh Imran Ismail on Tuesday resolved to rid Karachi of its water woes on a priority basis.

Ismail, who took oath of his office yesterday, was speaking to media during a visit to Quaid-e-Azam’s mausoleum.

Acknowledging the persisting water crisis as the gravest issue facing the metropolis, Ismail said a water project will be started at the earliest.

The governor said he will work with all political parties to resolve the issues plaguing the province. Any deadlocks will be resolved with the help of the federal government, he added.

During his visit to Quaid’s mausoleum, he also laid floral wreath and offered fateha.

Imran Ismail was named the next governor of Sindh after Muhammad Zubair stepped down from the post following PTI’s victory in general elections.
